BULLDOG BATTALION JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS' TRAINING CORPS

 Welcome to Bulldog Battalion Army JROTC program website. Here in our JROTC program we show leadership, self-discipline, teamwork, improve our overall physical fitness, self-esteem, and we also build confidence. Here at our JROTC program we are being taught to do CPR and medical emergencies.
HISTORY OF JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS' TRAINING CORPS
 
 In the year of 1916 the National Defense Act was passed when the Congress decicded to have a program for education of military studies. Some countries had a  JROTC program before the United States did. The JROTC program began in Norwich, Vermont. A former Superintendent of the United States Military Academy Captain Alden Partiridge. He founded Scientific, American Literary, and Military Academy in Norwich, Vermont. The persons who could command the program were the retired instructors from the actual military. Before the act passed ancient Greeks have studied for combining transitions of educational. To become a member of the JROTC program you need to be a U.S. citizen and at least 14 years of age. JROTC program students study communications, citizenship, leadership, ethics and life skills. They have studyed them to help students to graudate from high school. The program is only for high schools and colleges/universites to prepare them what the actual military does. The Army ROTC is more than 1550 high schools worldwide. And including all 50 in the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, and Asia.
 
History of South High School
 
 South High School was first built on October 12, 1900. As of now South High School has a second building at 1160 Ann Street. The first build was build at 245 Deshler Avenue. South High has a good tradition for education. This school survived different wars such as World War 1, World War 2, The Korean War, The Civil Rights Era, and The Vietnam War. South High School became the largest high school in the City of Columbus of enrollment because Central High School closed its doors for good. Today we accept the challenge of educating  young men and young women to become productive citizens as well.
